Network & Web Tools
Network tools answer questions about a domain, an address or a URL: which DNS records resolve, where an IP address is registered, what response headers a page returns and where a shortened link finally lands. The tools that must reach the public internet run on our server, because a browser cannot make a DNS query or read a cross-origin response. The rest — subnet arithmetic, user-agent parsing and what your own browser reports — run locally. Every page states which model applies.

Why do some network tools run on the server instead of my browser?
Browsers cannot perform DNS queries or read cross-origin response headers, so the lookups run on our server and it makes the request on your behalf. Tools that only need arithmetic or information your browser already has — the subnet calculator, the user-agent parser, browser information — run locally. The badge near the top of each page says which.
Do you keep a record of the domains and addresses I look up?
Lookups are not stored in a database. Standard web-server access logs held by our hosting provider may contain the request, and successful lookups are cached briefly to reduce load. Do not use these tools for anything you would not put in a URL.
Can I scan a host I do not control?
The tools here only read information that is already published — DNS records, WHOIS-style registration data returned by our provider, and response headers a server sends to any visitor. Delimiter.live does not offer port scanning or any other probing tool.
